Lyrics & Book Excerpt

LESLIE (sings):
All my life I’ve been waiting
For the perfect man to come my way.
I don’t know where or when
I will find him but then
It is with him I’ll stay.
But still I haven’t found him.
Please tell me, where can he be?
I just want a simple “hello”
But does this man know
To be looking for me?
I need time
‘Til the end of time
And if that’s what it takes
I’ll wait ’til then.
If he’s near I will feel it,
Though I don’t know who he is.
Trumpets and drums won’t be heard,
But the unspoken words
That I dream of are his.
There’s so much I’m unsure of.
I feel so lonely and scared.
How can I feel someone’s gone
When all along
There was nobody there.
I will try so hard
Not to give up and
Though I know
That it may be days or years,
But I won’t
Lose my hope.
So I’ll wait ’til then.
I’ll wait ’til then.
I’ll wait ’til then.
