Lyrics & Book Excerpt

MIRANDA: It’s not just that.
I have been for so long
Saying that nothing’s wrong
Acting as content as I was before
But I can’t pretend anymore
I’m unsure of my heart
Now that we’ve grown apart
Far too many days I am on my own
Even when you’re here, I’m alone
I have the right to speak my mind
and plead my side of the case
Even if I say things we don’t want to face
For love cannot survive
When love is built on lies
I recall in the past
Knowing our love would last
Now I wish we could just return to then
How I wish we could start again
I have the right to midnight carriage rides
with stars up above
Little things which silently confess your love
These are the things we need
For our love to succeed
There is a side
Of your life that you hide
From me
And although I can know
Only one side I don’t
Like the one that I see
One thing I’m certain of
Strangers can’t stay in love
Nothing more to do, nothing left to say
I can’t go on living this way
But despite all our wrongs
I still feel we belong
All you have to do is just let me in
I’m sure I could love you again
I have the right to know the truth
no matter how hard to face
Only truth can right the wrongs that lies embrace
Open your heart
Let me be part
Of your life
I just hope in hindsight
That I was right
To try
